Rules:

1. ALL COACHES MUST WEAR SKATES AND A HELMET TO BE ON THE ICE – NO EXCEPTIONS

2. All coaches/bench personnel must be registered with USA Hockey and should be CORI’d by your program

3. It is recommended that all coaches be certified by USA Hockey at the Level 1 certification

4. All players must be registered with USA Hockey – Rosters can be handed to the timekeeper tomorrow

5. Have Fun

6. Games will be 50-minutes in duration including a 3-minute warm up

7. Shifts are 2-minute running time

Game Format:

1. Each team will play a 50-minute game – the ice will only be cleaned between the 2nd and 3rd games and the 4th and 5th games

2. Each team should be ready to play at least 5 minutes before their scheduled start time

3. Weeks 1-8

a. Two coaches per team must be on the ice

b. There will be no off-sides and no-icing

c. Only the most severe penalties will acknowledge (blatant high sticking) – I ask that you simply remove that player and exchange him/her with a player from your bench – otherwise minor tripping and contact should be ignored during play, but addressed on the bench

d. There will be no periods; therefore, no switching ends

e. There will be no score keeping

4. Weeks 9-12

a. Two coaches per team must be on the ice

b. Coaches should call off-sides and icing; however be very forgiving – it should only be called if a break-away results

c. Face-offs for play stoppages will be at where the offense occurred or at the offending teams zone in the event of icing

d. Same penalty rule applies

5. Weeks 13-21

a. Two referees

b. All coaches on the bench

c. Refs should call off-sides and icing; however be very forgiving – it should only be called if a break-away results

d. Face-offs for play stoppages will be at where the offense occurred or at the offending teams zone in the event of icing

e. Same penalty rule applies

f. Scoring will be kept

6. Weeks 22-24

a. Round robin play-off similar to last year only if the coaches agree. (schedule will be revised to reflect the seedings)
